Phenomenal fish, succulent meat, prime pasties, lush clotted cream… Here in Cornwall we have some truly great food. And the brilliant thing about a self-catering holiday is that you get to try it all out! Close by you’ll find a good choice of farm shops and specialist suppliers along with award-winning tearooms, welcoming pubs and family-friendly restaurants. Plus, of course, a good choice of supermarkets for those essential bits.

Fresh Local Food
You can’t beat the taste of food that’s been grown, reared or caught locally:
Little Pig Farm Shop and Cafe south of Kilkhampton – Good produce from local farms and producers. Fruit, veg, meat, fish, dairy, great cakes and preserves plus an excellent cafe.
PJ & J Moore Butcher – Excellent locally-reared meat from traditional butchers in Kilkhampton
The Beach House – Fresh local fish near the beach at Widemouth Bay.

Bude Farmers Market – Every Friday at the Lower Wharf
Hartland Farmers Market – First Sunday of every month with excellent local bread, cheese, fish, meet, organic vegetables and much more.
Bideford Farmers Market – Every Tuesday and Saturday at the Market Place in Bideford
Local Tea Rooms
Try cream teas both Cornish and Devon style!
Rectory Farm Tea Rooms – Award-winning tearooms serving cream teas and lunches. All properly home cooked using produce from their own farm, and a great start or end point for walks.
Docton Mill Gardens – Home cooked light lunches and cream teas in a beautiful garden setting near Hartland.]
Local Pubs and Restaurants
There are two great pubs within walking distance if you’re feeling fit (up to an hour each way!) or just a few minutes in the car:
The Old Smithy Inn, Darracott, Welcombe –Food in bar and restaurant with meat and vegetables from local producers.
The Bush Inn, Crosstown, Morwenstow – Food in bar or restaurant with local meat and veg from pub garden.
And there are plenty more a little further afield, ranging from Michelin-mentioned pubs to seafood, tapas, Italian, Asian and even Creole restaurants.
